I wanted to know if I could visit both Simatai Great wall with Gubei water town and Mutianyu Great wall section in one day. If not which one is better.With taxi how much would this route cost with Taxi approx..Thanks

It is not possible to visit both Simatai Great Wall with Gubei Water Town and Mutianyu section in one day. The transfer from downtown to Simatai and back takes almost six hours. You are suggested to visit Simaitai and Gubei Water Town for one day and Mutianyu for the other day. Mutianyu is easier to hike as the slops there are gentle. And it is closer to Beijing city. Climb Simatai is more challenging. You may choose according to you own preference.It is not suggested to take a taxi to the Great Wall as the price could be very high. You can take bus line 916 from Dongzhimen Bus Station to Huairou North Avenue Station, then take a minivan to get to Mutianyu. For Simatai, you need to take bus 980 from Dongzhimen Transit Hub to Miyun Bus Station and then transfer to bus Mi 51, Mi 50 or Mi 37 to the destination.
