About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am US citizen and going to Shanghai by air. Stay in Shanghai for 3 days

then go to Kumamoto Japan by cruise for 4 days, come back Shanghai then fly back US. Will 144 hour visa free work for me?

Yes. In fact, you can use it twice in a row.
