We have read somewhere that there are traditional costume rental services around the Forbidden City

Can you please provide us more details on this? Are we allowed to walk around the costume during the tour or is it just for a photography session?

Yes, I have taken photography with the costume when I traveled in the Forbidden City. But it was used only for photography.
