About:China Work Visa

Chinese Embassy or Consulate

I am a transient US citizen in Thailand. I am about to receive the invitation letter and the foreign experts permit.
Once I will have all the required documents, for visa/permit purposes could I go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate here in Thailand, or should I go back to the Chinese Embassy Consulate in the US?

Marco, you can try to make the application in Thailand, but you should apply for it from the CVASC in Bangkok.

You need to apply for two documents first, with which you can go to the consulate to apply for a Z type. Namely, they are working permit and Z type notification letter. On the Z type notification letter, the consulate is designated.
When applying for the 2 documents, you can ask your colleague or the agent whether it can be applied in Thailand or in HongKong. If it is doable, ask them to write the consulate name on the Z type notificate letter application form.
