About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Travel Hong Kong - Shanghai - incheon(Korea) - Tianjin - Nagasaki (Japan)

My wife and I will be travelling the above route by cruise ship with stays less than 12 hours in each of the Chinese ports. Can we enter both ports on the Visa Free Entry and get Transit permits at the Cruise Terminals for sightseeing? We have Australian passports and valid itineraries for the cruise.

Kevin, if you travel like that, you will be able to use the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai and Tianjin respectively. You just need to apply for a free temporary stay permit each time at the immigration office at the port to the city for sightseeing.
