hi, any suggestions on best places to see the blossoms in Shanghai?

Yes, you are right. Gucun Park is a nice place to appreciate the cherry blossom in the city. It attracts many tourists every year.
About the transportation, you can take the metro line 7 to Gucun Park Station, Exit 2. Then walk to the park directly.
