Italian Bancomat and Credit card

Dear All,
in particolar for Italian user, could you please confirm me that Italian Bancomat and credit card ( for which required DIGIT numbers are 5 and 4) are accepted in China? I saw that China card needs 6 DIGIT Numers; may I inserted 1 or two zero before my code or can I insert my code without zeros?

You may use it on ATM machines with VISA or Master symbol and input the 4 digit numbers. If it cannot work, you can have a try at the bank counter.

I am Italian living in China and used many times the "bancomat" in China. Also my "bancomat" has 5 digits PIN. I just press the "confirm" button after I finished pressing the 5 figures, I never added the 0 as said above.
However "bancomat" is a local payment circuit not available here. Make sure your card has Visa or Mastercard or Maestro. Maestro is the one I use and few ATM here can operate with that. I use ICBC ATMs and it works.
