how to travel to yuanyang rice terraces?

Hi, I am looking to travel to the Rice Terraces for 2D1N, departing from Kunming. I will be there mid April this year. I saw a comment that you can take a 7-hour bus from KM Bus Station to Xinjie Town. Are there any other mode of transportation/shorter options? Also, where can I reserve a bus/train ticket?

Well, actually, taking a coach from Kunming to Xinjie Town is a convenient way. There is no direct train that runs between these two places. You can just purchase the ticket when you arriving there. In addition, you can also hire a private car or share one car with other tourists directly.
