About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Do I need a visa for a one day port off call in Shanghai on a cruise, no other Chinese ports visited

Nancy, if you travel like country A-Shanghai-country B, you may be able to use the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. And then no visa will be required.
