What do I submit to China embassy for tourist visa

Hi I I'd be going on a cruise and dock and board in shanghai. Do I need to submit bank statement, bank certificate or INCOME TAX RETURN together with my application form.

Marie, yes, the bank statement, bank certificate or INCOME TAX RETURN is needed when you make the application. You also need to provide your passport and copy of its data page, the application form, a passport-style photo, round trip tickets, and hotel reservation.

I'm hesitant in getting tickets since I'm not sure if I'll be getting a visa. I think it's reasonable to get ticket after I get approved so not to waste money and time
