About:China Visa Exemption

72 hours or 24 hours

We wish to fly from Australia to Russia via Beijing. China Southern flies from Australia to Guangzhou and then onto Beijing. Our flight to Russia is a day or so after arriving in Beijing. Do we need a visa if we arrive in one Chinese city (Guangzhou) and then fly to another city (Beijing) and leave the airport to stay in a hotel in Beijing?

If your total layover in China is more than 24 hours, you need to apply for a visa for that.
