About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

HK-Shenzhen-HK 24hr Transit by vehicle

I have an itinerary that involves multiple flights in Asia. Shanghai-HK-Taipei-Tokyo. For one part of my travel when visiting HK, I need to enter Shenzhen for 1-2 days. I already have a Chinese Visa but it provides only 1 entry, and I shall use this when entering Shanghai.

My understanding is that I do not have a forward flight out of Shenzhen airport so cannot use the 72hr free rule and thus I should apply for another Chinese Tourist L type.

Is this correct?
Thanks

Tony, the HK-Shenzhen-HK itinerary is not eligible for the 24 hour direct transit, so you need to apply for another tourist L type for entering Shenzhen.

As a Scot you're eligible for the 5 day Shenzhen visa that you can get at the border.

What is the 5 day Shenzhen visa?
Do you mean the 144hr Visa?
I will travel HK-Shenzhen-HK then onto Taiwan etc...so technically this isn't a 2nd country to take advantage of Transit right?

5-day Shenzhen visa refers to 5-day Shenzhen visa on arrival. It is different from the 144 hour policy.
The 144 hour policy is applicable to those transiting in Shenzhen. If you fly to Shenzhen from HK, and then go to Taiwan, you will qualify for the 144 hour free transit in Shenzhen.

It has nothing to do with the 144h.
It's an visa on arrival that you can get at the border.
It's valid for 5 days but just for Shenzhen.
