Hello, I'm from Europe and I intend to visit Dunhuang, which city is closer to travel from by train?, Chengdu or Beijing...

See from the distance, Chengdu is closer, however, see from the rail trip duration, departure from Beijing is faster. The direct ride from Beijing to Dunhuang would take about 39 hours. If you are able to get a flight to Lanzhou or Zhangye first, the trip would be faster.
