Visa for individual thai/belgian citizen to visit Shanghai?

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a belgian citizen living with a thai partner in Bangkok. We will travel to China to visit only Shanghai (5 days). Could you confirm to me that, as a belgian citizen, I can have a 144-Hour Free Transit? Is my thai partner can get also a similar 144-Hour Free Transit?
Thank you for your answer

Alain, if you travel like Bangkok-Shanghai (5 days) – a third country or region rather than Thailand, you will be able to enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai; but your partner needs to apply for a visa for that.
