Question

I am Australian and wish to visit a lady in China I met online through a Chinese agency. We correspond for sometime now and we both now want to meet. Can I get a multiple entry visa, so I can visit her at will, [or to possibly meet others if this particular lady and/or I decide we're not suitable]. Eventual outcome is obviously marraige. Once married, can I then apply for residency permit?

Jim, you can try to apply for a multiple-entry visa for China to visit her or others. If you get married with a Chinese, you can try to apply for a Q1 type which will allow you to get a residence permit.
