About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Open jaw tickets booked with United with different carriers with a 72 hour transit in Beijing

I have a round trip tickets booked from united airlines, but with different carriers as follows: Newark to Singapore (Thai), open jaw tickets, leaving Sydney on Air China, transit less than 72 hours in beijing, leaving on united airlines to newark. Will I be ok with the 72 hours free transit?
