Bali-Beijing-Seattle

My flight is almost the same as Moshers: Bali-Beijing-Seattle. I qualify for the 72 hour visa with one possible glitch. My final Delta flight from Beijing to Seattle transits in Shanghai with a 2 hour layover. It is all one reservation and one airline, though operated by China Southern on the Beijing-Shanghai leg. What is your opinion on this? Thank you!
