About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

does the 72 free visa still apply

Just to be Clear we arrive by cruise ship into Beijing, leave within 72 hours by air to Singapore ,then onto Brisbane Australia

Sorry, it does not apply because you enter Beijing by ship.
