Long duration of stay - Business visa

Hello,

My employer is considering sending me to China for an extended stay (at least 6 months). Normally we only visit for two weeks to oversee projects with our suppliers (M-visa). However, my employer wants me to be in China on a more permanent basis so that they can improve supplier relationships and maintain better quality control and accountability.
Because of the long stay, my wife would need to join me.
What visa's should me and my wife apply for and what is the maximum duration we can stay in China?

Your advice in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

regards,

Hamish

Hamish, you can apply for a business M visa for China, and your wife can apply for a tourist L visa to go with you, but the stay duration cannot be 6 months. You need to apply for an extension before the visa expires when you are in China.
