About:Chinese Consulate in Brisbane

What type of visa do we require.

We will arrive in Shanghai on the 23 rd March and board a cruise ship on the 25th March and travel by sea to Beijing (Tianjin) staying at Tianjin from 0500 0n the 28th March until 1800 on the 30th March, the ship leaves on the 30th March and continues on the cruise to other ports outside of China arriving in Honk Kong on the 7th April.

Ray, you should apply for a transit G type. Actually, if you book a Shanghai tour from a tour agency in China in advance, it's possible you don't need the visa because the 15-day visa-free visit policy for cruise passengers has been implemented.
