I would've liked to tell you what you wanted to hear. But I stick to the truth, even if you slap me with a minus into the right box here under my comment. You were born in the year of the Goat, and he was born in the year of the Dragon. Our tables on this page at Love Compatibility states that Dragon and Goat make the worst couple. He was born in Aquarius and you in Cancer, another mismatch. You seem to connect a bit because you are not together. Love plays mysterious tricks on people even on the phone.
