About:China Family Reunion Visa

is it possible to downgrade my visa in China to a Q1?

I am married to a Chinese and currently have a Z visa, is it possible to downgrade my visa in China to a Q1 or would I have to return to UK? I read somewhere before that it is possible to convert visas downwards in China, but not upwards. I just want to find clarification on this.

Russell, it is possible for you to convert the work Z type to a spouse reunion Q1 type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can be done, you don’t have to return to UK.
