About:Year of the Rabbit

Which is my zodiac sign

I was born 2/3/1987, Chinese calendar is 1/6/1987. I hear some people say that because my birthday is so early in the Chinese New Year that I am still consider a tiger instead of a rabbit. Does this hold some truth?

Karen,
The Chinese New Year started on 29th of January 1987, so you are a Fire Rabbit. Please don’t pay attention to what people who don’t know may say. They don’t know. People said the same thing about the Western Astrology, so that someone was born on the cusp, and has qualities from one Sun sign and from the other. The truth is for example in a certain instance that the Sun is either in Aquarius or in Pisces, and not in the middle. People went to the Earth’s Equator, with a bucket of water, and they discovered that there is a 10 meters wide strip between the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere where the water falls straight down and doesn’t whirl. You know how when one flushes the water from a tub, the water whirls clockwise on the Southern Hemisphere and it whirls anticlockwise in the Northern Hemisphere. And so do the Cyclones or Hurricanes. But what is 10 meters compared to 12 000 kilometers? Nothing. Maybe it is in the same way when the Sun moves from one constellation into the next, and there could be a small strip, which is negligible. So the theory you have just put forward is not accepted by the Chinese astrology, unless you do your new Doctorate Thesis in this field and prove your point of view. I could also say that the Earth is flat, but who would believe me in this day and age?

Yes, you have to take into consideration the day the new zodiac animal starts the year, also known as "Li Chun" or "lap chun." Every year is different. When you find out the day for "Li Chun" then you know which zodiac animal you are. If your DOB is before Li Chun then you are a tiger. Some may say you have the ass of a tiger and the head of a rabbit, denoting that you were born during the transition from one animal to the other.
