About:How do you get from Guangzhou airport to the city?

If I take bus line 5 from Guangzhou Airport, can I get off at Yuexiu Park (not Dongfang Hotel)?

In the other hand, I have to wait at Dongfang Hotel for shuttle bus line 5 to airport?
Do my understanding correct?

No, I'm afraid not. The airport shuttle bus line 5 doesn't stop at Yuexiu Park.
Suijing Building, Dongfang Hotel, Haizhu plaza and Hilbin Hotel are the stops of this bus line. You can get off at these stops. And you can also take the shuttle bus to Baiyun Airport from these places. Hope helpful!
