About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

To be eligible for the 24 hour exempt you need to have a "confirmed seat".

What does that mean? Do I have to be checked in for the flight and have an assigned seat number? Or is it enough to have a confirmed e-ticket?

Actually, you can get the 24 hour direct transit as long as you have a confirmed ticket with confirmed date. The confirmed e-ticket may work, too.
