About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Sydney-Guangzhou 48hrs -Hong Kong 48hrs-Guangzhou 48hrs- Sydney

Hi I want to buy cheap tickets on one airline for Sydney-Guangzhou return, however I want to avoid getting a visa and visit Hong Kong as well.
Is it possible to do the below itinerary
Sydney-Guangzhou 48hrs -Hong Kong 48hrs-Guangzhou 48hrs- Sydney.
More than likely the Guangzhou-Hong Kong return ticket will be on a different airline.

Hope you can clarify the situation for me!

Ricky, yes, you can do the above itinerary. You will be able to enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou in both directions.

Have you done a similar trip before? Or can anyone else confirm if it's ok especially if the Hong Kong-Guangzhou return trip is with a different airline to what I took to arrive in China?

You can fly back to Guangzhou on a different airline. It doesn’t matter.
