About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

by car to Macau or changing into 144 hours

Right now I´m in Foshan, Guangdong, on a 72-hours-free-visum-transit for the 2nd time. I just read this brand new policy for Guangdong to offer 144 hours, which is great, but for me too late now. I have to go to Macau and can get a ride with somebody (by car) which will save me enormously much time (instead of plane HK, wait 2 hours, ferry etc... which is my plan now). Does anybody have experience with going by car to Macau during this 72h-transit? I know it´s against the rules, but will they stop you at the border in Zuhei? Or does anybody has another solution? Maybe changing my onward ticket and ask for 144 hours and go back to Guangzhou within remaining 3 days? Is that possible, and if so where do I ask? Hope to hear.

When you enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou, you need to enter and exit by flights all the way, but as the 144 hour free transit is carried out in Guangdong, I’m not sure if you will be allowed to exit to Macau by car. You’d better go to the local exit and entry administration to inquire about that.
When you return to Guangzhou from Macau, if you go to Guangzhou by flight, and stay there for not more than 144 hours, afterwards, go to a third country or region instead of Macau, you will be able to use the 144 hour free transit in Guangzhou.
