About:China Train

I want to travel to shanghai but have at least 45kg luggage.

this app advised to send excess luggage with a freight carriage. for this service, do I pay at the train for excess luggage or is there another exclusive rail service

You need to pay for it at the station, in cash. I think you need to hold the paper ticket as well.
