About:China Transit Visa

Do I need Visa for transit Via Beijing? Im Malaysian

Returning from Japan, I have a flight which required to transit via Beijing for about 7 hours of waiting.

1) May I know if I’m required to apply for Visa entry if I’m not leaving the Airport?

2) And, if I would like to exit and visit around Beijing, do I need to apply for visiting L type?

No, you don’t need to apply for it.
You are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing, so you just need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office inside the airport, and then you can go to the city for a visit.

You will need to apply for a visa if you want to leave the airport! Malaysians are not allowed out of the airport boundary. I was just there and was told I cannot go through because I have a Malaysian passport. I had a 13 hour transit in Beijing!!! Stuck inside the airport the whole time! I transited twice and was rejected both times.

Oh my. That is not a good news to hear. Is there anywhere to get a transit 24hours visa on the spot in the airport? Thank you

They will let you have the 24hours transit visa which only allows you to stay in the airport departure area. When you land in Beijing you will have to go to the 24hours transit counter and through security check which has a long queue. Since you have 7 hours, you will probably need 1 hour to clear immigration and security. The rest you will just have to stay near your departure gate. Food and drinks are very expensive too. So, be prepared.

If transit time is only 1 and half hours, do i still need temporary transit visa?
