About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Leave Shanghai with stopover in Taipei - problem for 144 visa-free transit?

Inward flight: Tokyo - Shanghai (direct)
Outward flight: Shanghai - Taipei - Amsterdam (2 connecting flights)

Would this itinerary pose a problem for the 144-hour waiver?

Tom, if you transit in Shanghai for less than 144 hours, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
