gift ideas when meeting chinese relatives

Question

We are flying to China for the wedding of my son and his Chinese fiance. We will be meeting her family for the first time and are told we will be going to her parent's house, her grandparent's house and one of her Aunt and Uncle's house.  Is is sufficient to give a gift to each of the women when we arrive?  Do we also need to give a gift to the men?  My wife is considering knitting scarfs for all three women as gifts.  Would that be sufficient?  Any other ideas?

Well, it will be better bring gifts for men as well. Knitting scarfs are good gifts for women. As for men, you may give them tea, or ties. :)
