Chances of my new friend, a rabbit (jub. 4,75) and i, a pig (sep 3,83), to be more than friends?

I dated his friend and he doesnt like the idea of us dating cos of his good relation to his friend. But i think we like each other. Any chances that our friendship now will grow more?
