About:China Train

squat toilet fear

I was hoping to travel hard sleeper to get to know the locals but this squat toilet has me re-thinking. I'm a female sole traveller (can't leave bag) and have a bad leg plus it's a moving train! Maybe I'm over reacting as I have never seen a squat toilet before? Any advice ladies?

Personally speaking, i do not like that squat toilet. The space is very limited, this is somehow reasonable, but sometimes the cleanliness is questionable. There is handle available, so it is not a difficult thing for me. Always remember to get your own toilet paper!! I used to read some where that western style toilets are available sometimes in soft sleeper carriages, but not sure, i took hard sleeper.

Normally you can just walk up as far as the soft sleeper cars and use the western style toilets anyway.
