One-day trip or two-day?

I'm planing to visit Nanjing on a weekend, but some of my friend said one day is for Nanjing. Is it true? Or one-day trip is possibly but quite strickt in time? Two day worth more?

Actually one day is enough to cover the main sightseeings in Nanjing. However, if you want a leisure tour and want to see more about Nanjing, two days are better.
