About:China Visa Application in UK

Hi. I am in China on a tourist visa and have been offered a job.

My employer can provide all the paperwork, but I thought I would have to return to the UK myself.
1) can I post my papers and passport to you and have the visa sent to me in China
2) If not, I see that some people are talking about Hong Kong. I was told that this was no longer possible. Can you provide details on how to do this.
3) If this is also not possible, I see that you say it is possible, but difficult to "upgrade" a tourist visa. Is this still the case? Can you provide details?

Anthony, you can't send your paperwork to the UK for the application while you are in China. You can possibly convert your tourist L type to Z type at Beijing. If not, you may go to HK to try your luck. You may need to find an agent there to help you or apply for it at the Office of the Commissioner of PRC's Foreign Affairs Ministry. If it still doesn't work, you have to go back to the UK and apply for it at the CVASC office.

Thanks for the reply. It all sounds a bit vague and risky, going somewhere on the chance that I "may" be able to get something done. Could be expensive too. Just something that I will have to get used to I suppose.
