About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

3 night stay post cruise do I need a visa

I'm ending my cruise 26 Jan 2017 in Shanghai. Staying at a hotel in Shanghai for 3 nights. flying back to UK from Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Do I qualify for the 144 hour free transit. If so how do I apply for it?

Bernadette, if the last country you come from by cruise ship is not UK, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. Before you boarding the cruise ship, you should inform the cruise ship company that you want to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. After arrival, you can go to the immigration office to apply for the free transit.
