Transit in China for more than 24 hours

Hi, I am holding Malaysian passport and have scheduled flight Osaka to Kathmandu via Shanghai.
I will arrive at Pudong airport and then go to Kunming airport the next day.And from Kunming i will have to wait another 23 hours for my flight to Kathmandu.Do i need a visa for my transit in China as my transit will be over 24 hours?

Yes, you need to get a transit G type before your departure.
