About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

leave China during stay as crew

Hi,
I'm a german airline crew member with a long layover in China and I like to spend some days in Japan.
Question: Upon arrival in China I like to immigrate China with 72hrs Transit visa, not as Crewmember. Possible?

Daniel, it mainly depends on which city you will transit and how long the layover will be. Could you please provide more information?

I will arrive in Qindao (TAO) on 24th Dec on duty. Leave TAO 3rd Jan on duty as a crewmember. That gives 9 days free time there. In this free time I like to leave for Japan on 25th Dec and come back 1st Jan.

Daniel, if you want to use this free transit policy, you should have your confirmed ticket from Qingdao to Japan before entering China for the first time. As for your second entry, I'm afraid you need to get a visa.
