i am arriving from kul on airasia x d7316 at beijing capital airport in t2 on dec 3 at

I need to take a connecting flight on United/Air China 819 on Dec 3 at 11:25am. Since AirAsia is not a partner of United/AirChina 819, do I still have to go through immigration to get my checked bag? If so will I face any problems transferring to the United/AirChina flight since I have a Malaysian passport?Thank you
