About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I would like to buy a ticket to Beijing, but I want to know if I'm eligible for 72 hour visa first.

First I plan on leaving from Fukuoka, Japan with a transit stop in Seoul, South Korea before arriving in Beijing. I want to stay in Beijing for two days then head to Seoul again. After one day in Seoul, I would head back to Fukuoka again. Can I do this since Seoul was only a transit stop the first time and will be my actual destination the second time?

Your schedule is Seoul - Beijing - Seoul so it doesn´t qualify for the 72h twov.

You come from S.Korea and can´t fly back to the same country.

So any layovers before landing in Beijing are counted as the country you depart from even if you originally departed from another country?

The Chinese immigration only sees you as a passenger arriving from Seoul since your last point of embarkation is Seoul. It's not based on your point of departure.
