Cancelled AEP with valid RP and overstaying outside China

I still have valid RP but my AEP is cancelled already because my new employer will get me a new one -which expires on May 4, 2017 - but I left in China last Sept 8 for personal matters and I will be coming back to China on Feb 11. Will I have problems in immigration for staying longer outside China? Is it still valid to enter China?

If possible, you are advised to apply for a new visa to re-enter China because no one can assure whether you can still use the RP on your passport to re-enter China or not.
