i have a resident's permit for china good until sept 2017 but have left the job

My question is this- The resident's permit hasn't been cancelled in my passport by my school and now can I enter China on it legally as another organization wants to hire me?

Dear, no one can assure that if the residence permit on your passport can still be used. Just to play safe, you’d better apply for a new work Z type to enter China and start the new job.
