China trasit visa

I'm a South African working in Taiwan. I'm flying to Tokyo and I have a transit in Shanghai for 20hours. I'm flying from Taipei to Tokyo return trip. Can I go outside in shanghai or would it be a problem because I'm flying from taiwan?

Carel, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. If you want to leave the airport, you need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office inside Shanghai airport. Don’t worry! You won’t encoder any problem.
