About:Macau Visa Policy

Belize--USA--Macau--Zhongshan

Currently in Belize with work permit. Hold a US passport. No China consulate in Belize. Flight leaves Belize and arrives in Texas (home) and then Macau on December 1st. From there I am to travel to Zhongshan to see my boyfriend there on work Z type entry permit. I need to know if I can get a China Visa in Macau and how quickly? And the price. I rented a room in me at but realized I arrive on a Thursday and after 10:30am was hoping I could rush service it and get it back by Friday. Is that possible? Or will I need to get a hotel until Monday? Can I at least enter Zhuhai for a cheaper hotel while I wait? I heard they allow u to enter for 3 days

If you don’t have Macau residence permit, I’m afraid it is difficult for you to apply for Chinese entry permit from there. You’d better apply for it in USA, where you can choose the rush service which takes one working day only; and it will cost USD 140 per person.
Of course, you can also try to apply in Macau, but I can assure nothing. It will cost MOP 1,130 per person, and the rush service takes 2 working days. If you submit the application on Thursday, you can probably get the result on Friday. I’m afraid you should stay in Macau if you make the application there.

Hi April! I won't be in the USA for 24 hours before my flight leaves I don't think. I also read that the consulate in Houston I would possibly go to doesn't do rush. Who do you suggest I use and where does it cost $140?? Do you think Hong Kong is a better option than Macau? Thanks again!

When you apply for it in USA, it will cost USD 140.
If so, you can have a try in Macau first. If it cannot work, you can try to apply for it in HK. Actually, the case may be the same. But as American passport holders can enjoy free entry to HK for a stay of not exceeding 90 days, maybe you can get it from there. Give it a shot.

Thanks April. I guess worst case scenario is I get stuck in Macau or Hong Kong and not able to enter in to China to see my boyfriend. The entire reason I'm flying across the world. Note to self and others when booking tickets to China make sure to leave ample time for visa and don't always trust the Internet and one persons advice. I won't be able to afford Macau for 12 days if I can't enter so this will be interesting. I'll call it an adventure that probably will have me headed back home in a few days after landing 😔 Thanks for your help April! I should have asked around sooner since I still after 3 days havent been able to reach the consulate in Houston and there isn't one on the island where I live now. Ciao! Wish me luck
