About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Crew member layover

I'm air crew for a UK airline laying over in Shanghai for 8 days.
1) would I be able to travel to Beijing during my stay, without any need for a visa?

2) would I be able to travel to HK during my stay, and subsequently return to Shanghai?

1. I’m afraid you cannot travel to Beijing during your stay in Shanghai if you don’t have an entry permit.
2. You can travel to HK. In this case, you can enjoy free transit in Shanghai.
