About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Peter, Australian travelling Johanesburg-Beijing-Sydney. Am I eligible for the 144 hr transit?

Do I need to apply for a visa or permit, or can I present in Beijing. I am already in Africa and wont be home in Australia before travel date. Plan to arrive Beijing 1730 10 Dec from South Africa & leave 1630 16 Dec to Australia, so will that work ok? Thank you for your assistance.

Peter, there is no 144 hour free transit in Beijing, but 72 hour free transit. Based on what you said, you need to apply for a tourist L type entry permit for that.
