Longmen grottoes and Shaolin temple.

I have one full day travel from Xian(by high speed train) to visit Longmen grottoes and shaolin temple, I need help to plan for the trip by bus (need to return the same day to Xian),Thanks.

You can take a high speed train to Luoyang in the early morning. Upon arrival at Longmen Railway Station, you can take bus no. K71 and get off at Longmen Grottoes Station, the taxi fare is around CNY15. After that, take bus no. K81 or taxi (around CNY40) to Luoyang Railway Station, from where you can take a regular bus bound for Xuchang/ Xinmi and get off at Shaolin Temple. This bus departs every 30 minutes and the fare is CNY24. After finishing the sightseeing, get back to Xian by high speed train.

There is no direct bus from Shaolin Temple to Longmen Railway Station, you can take bus from Shaolin Temple to Luoyang Bus Station first, then take a taxi to Longmen Station (around CNY30, 30 minutes).
