Which train station is easier to get to from Beijing airport, Beijing station or Beijing west

I am taking a ride from Beijing to Datong in Shanxi province. Just wondering which is easier to get to and which station is the least complicated.

Beijing Railway Station is a little closer and easier to reach by subways compared with west station.
