Couple travelling to Hong Kong and Shanghai

I am from England and my girlfriend is Australian, we will be travelling from Perth to Hong Kong and then onto Shanghai before we fly to Japan. We intend to get the train from Hong Kong to Shanghai and stay there around 5 days. Can we easily apply for tourist visas and what is the best way to do this? Thanks

Jake, actually, you will be eligible for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai if you travel like Perth-HK-Shanghai (5 days)-Japan. In this case, you don’t need to apply for a tourist L type entry permit.
