Opening ICBC China Account in Shenzhen as a tourist

Hi,

I'm going to Hongkong for Tour probably this year, might drop by to Shenzhen for a day trip (Shopping + Banking Trip)

How easy is it to get an account opened (Demand deposit in ICBC = ?? )? This would be for Transaction purposes mainly (especially for Alipay verification as well). What kind of documents are required?

Faustine, it is very easy to open a bank account. Just take your passport to the business hall and fill in some forms and you can get an account. You also need to open the online banking service for Alipay at the same time, and no other documents are required.

Thanks for your reply Antonio.

No need for Local China Address (just provide them my home address outside China)? I believe I would also need a Prepaid sim for their OTPs especially if using Online Banking?

Great if no other documents required.

As I know, the living address is needed when you open a credit card. And yes, you need to provide your available phone number to get the OTPs.
